Once upon a time, not so long ago, there were a lot more gay godfathers around than there are now. A gay godfather can put on a resplendent fête or a lavish soirèe faster than you can wave a wand or brandish a cane. In those days, people would talk about one of these legendary events staged by one of the gay godfathers for years afterwards.

Your godfather began his career when the word "gay" was still whispered in the darkened corners of closeted speakeasies. That was quite awhile back . . . before he ever became a godfather.
