All great events begin with a well-planned design. Every dream needs to be designed before you can bring it to life and make it a reality. A design translates an inspiration into practical terms so others can experience and breathe the atmosphere of the environment you have imagined. 

 

First you imagine an idea or concept. After that you need a sketch or drawing . . .  next you need to add a bit of color.

 

Now the hard part  . . .  deciding what materials are necessary to construct your dream and make it materialize so everyone can see it. In order to make that happen, you need a working knowledge of design concepts including shape and form as well as being familiar with a wide range of materials and construction techniques in order to know how  to materialize  your dream so everyone else can see it.

After the initial free consultation, planning rates are $50 per hour. Design rates vary between $50 & $75 depending upon extent and complexity of design. (For example selection and placement of stock props and equipment and their positioning and arrangement within the site would be $50 per hour, while custom lighting and prop design would be $$75. Note: construction of custom props adds additional costs depending on the difficulty of construction. For a small venue with moderate decor and lighting, planning takes about 2 to 3 hours. For a larger and more elaborate mid-range venue with more elaborate decor and lighting, planning will take roughly 4 to 5 hours. For a large event with extensive decor and lighting, planning can take as much as 7 to 8 hours). These ballpark estimates are listed as a courtesy but as a general rule, design costs are not expected to exceed them.
