SELECTED THEMES

A Limited Selection of Suggested Themes for Events

When someone is imaginative as Your Godfather, these don't begin to scratch the surface of the endless number of possibilities!

Rock   &    Roll   Hoochie-Koo   In    The     Fabulous    50s And Beyond

Rock 'N' Roll is one of the most popular choices for parties and theme events. Like many other themes, it's also easy to customize. Your theme can focus on a particular rock group or a type or  music, like Doo Wop. Or you might want to  focus on an era like the Bobby Sock Hops of the 1950s or a Saturday Night Fever in the Disco era of the 1970s . Rock 'n' roll has gone through many eras and phases so your choices here are almost unlimited.

Once Upon A Time In Neverland

Fantasy is another alluring genre that provides a rich source of choices that are practically endless in scope.  Legendary  characters, along with creatures and fantastic beasts that people the realms of imagination, are all found here. Traditional heroes from Robin Hood with his  merry men in Sherwood, to King Arthur and his knights of Camelot all provide possibilities for themes . Whether you want to join Alice in Wonderland or Dorothy and her friends with the Wizard of OZ in the Emerald City, you can bring your dream to life. On the other hand, maybe you'd like to tread through Narnia , experience a Midsummer Night's Dream, join Harry at Hogwarts or take a voyage with Sinbad. We can bring any of these environments to life and make them happen. Superheroes from the pages of comic books, along with countless storybook characters: Aladdin,  Cinderella, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings are all found here. You never run out of ideas when you find Neverland.

ALIENS, SPACE SHIPS, ROBOTS, LITTLE GREEN MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES, PLAN "X" from NIBIRU, A Prime Directive FROM MING THE MERCILESS ON Fighting STAR WARS, AREA 51, MEN IN BLACK AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN . . .
Robot

As a genre, the range of Sci-Fi themes are virtually limitless. They can range from serious to tongue-in-cheek, realistic to funky, horrific to comical . . . can you say, "let's do the Time Warp again?" It just depends on the type of spin you want to put on your theme. Just tell the Godfather what you have in mind and he'll take it from there. If you don't know, he  can help you figure it out.

LISTENIN' TO A Ragtime tune in  the  OLD DEADWOOD  GULCH  SALOON

The dusty streets of the old Wild West continue to capture our imagination . . . gunslingers and marshals, train robbers and stagecoaches. The tinkle of an old honky-tonk piano drifts through the swinging doors of the saloon.  Visions of cowboys and chuckwagons on cattle drives still surround us as if it was yesterday. The Marshall strolls among your guests and an occasional outlaw bellies up to the bar of your saloon

There Be Pirates Aplenty in Davy Jones Locker

Har Matey's!! "Pirates" is another ever-popular theme that can be customized in various ways. Whether you're onboard a ship, on the beach or underwater. In additiona, your Jolly Roger theme can also be set in various locales: New Orleans, Hispaniola or the South Seas. Depending on the setting, each venue will have a slightly different flavor. Whether it's a costume party or a party where "pirates" in costume mix with your guests, pirates is always a great theme choice!

Sunk in The Watery Ocean Depths, We Might Find Ourselves Wandering Through King Neptune's Court

   Full fathom five thy father lies;
         Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade,
    But doth suffer a sea-change
    Into something rich and strange.
    Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
               Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them— Ding-dong, bell.

              Ariel from Wm. Shakespeare's Tempest

Underwater themes are another big favorite.  Divers and treasure hunters explore the sunken depths of vanished civilizations, like lost Atlantis, where mermaids and mermen now swim the streets. King Neptune holds court there on a coral throne in his grotto, surrounded by ascending bubbles and drifting columns of seaweed. Or maybe Aquaman will teach you how ride a seahorse like an underwater jockey, as a giant squid tries to crush your Nautilus, 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Exotic settings are among the most exciting and versatile of all themes. An exotic location can be used as a theme by itself, or it can be paired with other themes, such as a mystery dinner that takes place on The Orient Express or maybe someone was stabbed to  Death On The Nile. The theme may envision Indiana Jones searching for artifacts among the tombs of ancient Egypt or in the ruins of some other vanished civilization. On the other hand, you may want your theme to reflect the gaudy pageantry of ancient Thebes when the Pharaohs ruled the Nile or the decadent splendor of the Caesars in ancient Rome. Sit down and hang out at a bar in old Algiers and let the romance  of vanished eras wash over you. Spend Midnight in Paris orr sip some Absinthe while you watch a Can-Can performance at the fabled Moulin Rouge.

Cinema
Under the HOLLYWOOD Sign

Hollywood  is a popular theme as well. From Oscars to divas, the red carpet premieres and glamor of Hollywood are pretty much synonymous with elegance. But thinking just a little outside the box, you can combine a Hollywood Theme with practically any other theme of your choice. Simply plug in a movie genre like Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction or James Bond to your Hollywood Theme and you can have a dual theme which will make your event even more delightful. Why not turn your own guests into movie stars and print "programs" that include a short bio of each. While you're at it,  why not give each of your guests their own star, on your own "Walk of Fame."

Relax on a Tropical Island and Watch the Sunset Somewhere in the South Seas

TIKI 2_edited.png

while testy Tikis frown at you and their torches flicker along the sidelines. As an occasional rumble escapes from your volcano, get ready to sit down and feast at a sumptuous Hawaiian Luau! Ahhh what could be more enticing on a scorching summer day than to dude up a pool area so it seems like you and your guests are enjoying your own tropical island. Or maybe, after the sun sets, you'd prefer to  enjoy your starry sky in the air conditioned comfort of an indoor beach!

Industrial Chic

There's something magical about the canyons of a downtown Industrial District at night, with the lit windows of high rises glowing far above. Shops line the street with their flashing neon  signs . . . restaurants, boutiques and small shops of every kind beckon you to enter and sample their wares, as you and your guests relaxon your rooftop patio.

Baccarat with High Rollers at Casino Royale from Dusk Till Dawn

007

Whether you prefer your martinis shaken or stirred, James Bond inspired spy culture remains a popular theme. A Spy theme works well as a focal point around which to organize an elegant  formal or semi formal event. It can also be customized to work in a casino environment, a luxury suite, a big city environment or a number of exotic foreign settings. When you're looking for something just a little more creative, cross-combing themes can be a winner. Let your Godfather help with suggestions! Guests can heighten the drama by wearing plain face masks or colors that identify their "team." And speaking of masquerades . . .

Of Masquerades & Mardi Gras

Nothing delights guests like a costume party. While Mardi Gras and Halloween are once-a-year events, you can have a masquerade any time. A masquerade can be coupled with almost any other theme and will work in any setting. It can be staged in almost any historic or international setting which will add additional interest to your chosen theme. In addition, masks of full costumes can reflect a theme in and of themselves.

CIRCUS  &  SIDESHOW

Nothing excites like a Circus. Jugglers, clowns, acrobats suspended in midair.  Being under the Big Top continues to thrill like nothing else. Add the stranger elements of the Sideshow with it own brand of intrigue to your circus. Pairing a Circus theme with Sci-Fi or Steampunk and cross-connecting them, can give an additional level of fascination.

The Gilded Era of the Roaring 20s and The Deco Era of the 30s

The 120s were the era  of Gatsby, opulent, ostentatious and overdone. These were the eras during which  Cole Porter penned his famous song "Anything Goes."  This period began with  Flappers and ended with Fox Trots. An unforgettable time that exhibited unique styles.

In olden days, a glimpse of stocking

Was looked on as something shocking.

But now, God knows,Anything goes.

Victorian Era

The lavish velvet-draped opulence of the Victorian and Edwardian eras in which Steam Punk is set, continues to fascinate. This is the era of Sherlock Holmes and the quirky characters of Charles Dickens. Waistcoats, ascots, top hats and hoop skirts are all part of the sophisticated elegance of this period.

Out here in the Southwest, one of the all-time favorites for a theme is still the Fiesta! These are fun, colorful and noisy.

CELEBRATE  A  SEASON

The theme may be simple, like celebrating a season. The arrival of Autumn, the rites of Spring. The arrival of Jack Frost and the onset  of Winter or the heat of Summer with pools, picnics and BarBQs.
